Transitions In Adult Development and Aging
TIADA LAB
The Transitions in Adult Development and Aging (TIADA) laboratory is directed by Dr. Emily Schryer of the Department of Human Development at California State University Long Beach (CSULB).
The TIADA lab uses a biopsychosocial lens to examine topics related to changes in health, well-being, and circumstance across the adult lifespan. Work in the lab explores mechanisms of resilience, adaptation, and coping as people navigate transitions and changes associated with aging. Past and current projects in the TIADA lab have explored a variety of topics including the social context of driving cessation, retirement planning, caregiving, and adaptation to normal age-related changes in cognitive functioning. Research in the TIADA lab also explores autobiographical memory, and personal story-telling as a mechanism of resilience and well-being in the face of challenges across the lifespan.
